Email Verification
Every address run through eight sequential checks — syntax, domain, MX, mailbox and risk — before your campaign ever touches it.
Overview
Mailbox providers score your sending domain continuously. A single campaign to an unverified list can push your bounce rate past the penalty threshold — and once you're flagged, even clean sends go to spam.
Coventra's verification engine runs syntax, domain, MX-record, mailbox-ping, catch-all, role-account, disposable and risk checks on every address, returning a confidence score you can act on. Typical post-verification bounce rates: under 2%.

What's Included
Malformed addresses and dead domains caught before deeper checks even run.
Live mailbox-level verification confirms the address actually accepts mail.
Ambiguous catch-all domains flagged separately so you can send with eyes open.
Every address graded valid, risky or invalid with a confidence score attached.
Straight Talk
A bounce doesn't just fail — it testifies against you. Every hard bounce tells the mailbox providers you're the kind of sender who doesn't check their lists, and they keep score permanently. Enough of them and your domain gets quietly demoted: same emails, same lists, everything suddenly landing in spam, and nobody can tell you exactly why.
Verification is the unglamorous habit that prevents all of it. Eight checks per address, a clear verdict — valid, risky, invalid — and the risky ones surfaced for your judgment instead of hidden in the average. It takes a day. Rebuilding a burnt domain takes months.
You can verify the list today, or explain the deliverability chart to your VP next quarter. There's no third option.

Questions We Hear a Lot
Syntax, domain existence, MX records, live mailbox ping, catch-all detection, role-account flagging (info@, sales@), disposable-address detection and a composite risk score. Each address gets a verdict plus the reasons behind it — not just a green tick.
Because we report the uncomfortable categories separately — catch-alls and risky addresses are labeled as exactly that, never rounded up to 'valid'. Our incentive is your post-send bounce rate staying under 2%, and that's the number we're happy to be judged on.
Before every major send is ideal; quarterly is the practical minimum. Email addresses decay at roughly 2.5% a month, so a list verified in January is measurably dirty by June. Ongoing clients get scheduled re-verification so it's never a thing anyone has to remember.
